MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN by Nelson Denis
72 min | Comedy, Action | USA | 2018
World Premiere

SYNOPSIS:

Rogelio Yola (Angel “Chi Chi” Salazar) believes in the American Dream. He arrives in New York City from Santo Domingo to find work and help his elderly sister Tati (Gloria Zelaya) who is suffering from asthma.  Instead of a job, he’s handed a title: Public Enemy #1. Rogelio is declared a terrorist and chased by ICE agents all over New York City.

The chase scenes are spectacular. An advance review in the Huffington Post stated: “the action sequences are extraordinary. An army of ICE agents chase Rogelio through a Kafkaesque series of New York streets, stairs, basements and hidden chambers. The paranoia of The Third Man, the POV kinetics of Point Break and Raising Arizona, the urban chaos of Casino Royale and Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior – all of these elements explode in a shocking, surrealistic, yet utterly believable chase sequence.”  With news clips of Donald Trump and other key figures, the story has an immediate “ripped from the headlines” quality, and a powerful message for modern audiences. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN is an up-close view of an American dream gone sour. In 2018, with the world upside down, it is a re-affirmation of that dream and an alternate vision of America.
